In 2021, the 14th "Higher Education Cup" National College Students Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Innovation Competition adopted a new competition mode of players' cloud online participation, experts' online and offline and computer intelligent grading, attracting 551 universities and 6743 players to participate, of which 985, 211 or double first-class universities were more than 100.
The Jingzhou University team was led by Dean Sui Mancang of the School of Mechanical Engineering, guided by 5 teachers such as Geng Jiayuan and Liang Hanyou, and 18 students such as Zhang Tao and Jiang Tao participated in the competition. Four teachers, Geng Jiayuan, Liang Hanyou, Hu Zhenzhen and Liu Huaihai, won the second prize of national "Excellent Instructor".
This competition adopts new models such as cloud participation and intelligent marking, which requires higher knowledge ability and comprehensive quality of contestants. The competition procedure is complicated, from the school-level qualifier to the national competition lasted more than four months, and the final of the national competition alone took 9 days.
